• Fork and rear triangle designed to work together
The frame and matching KR36 fork are designed to work as a unit. They are made in our exclusive CNC-machined molds using complementary materials.
o All design objectives are fully realized, frame and fork work as a complete unit.
o The Kr36 fork’s composite laminate offers greater front end stiffness for predictable handling through the tightest line even at very high speeds.
o The rear triangle distorts very little under full power; all energy applied to the crankset is transferred to the rear wheel.
• S3: an Argon 18 design exclusive
Introduced in 2005, S3 means the down and top tube diameters vary with frame size.
o S3 enhances the inherent characteristics of monocoque construction, optimizing the desired ride qualities in each frame size without compromise.
o At the bottom bracket, downtube diameter increases by 6% from frame size XXS to XL. Similarly, this tube remains 22% wider than it is tall in all frame sizes. Power transfer is direct.
• 5600 HM Nano-Tech carbon
As with the Gallium and Gallium Pro, the Krypton’s 5600 HM carbon composite utilizes high modulus fibers, to emphasize rigidity.
o Fiber grade and thickness vary in different areas of the frame in order to reduce weight to a minimum.
o The 5600 HM carbon formulation filters out vibration and offers superior comfort.
• The optimal balance:rigidity, comfort and light weight
The frame/fork combination creates a feeling of solidity and precision on the road that will satisfy even the most discriminating riders.
o Thanks to their monocoque construction, the headtube and main triangle ensure maximum lateral stiffness: power transfer is complete.
o In static deformation tests using weights, the bottom bracket area stands up to even very heavy loads without flexing.
o What the numbers don’t reveal: the most important things. The feeling of comfort, stability and control experienced when riding the Krypton is something that simply can’t be quantified.
